Cloud & Backup

Because "the cloud backs itself up" is not a backup strategy.

Many SMEs assume that because their files are in OneDrive or Google Drive, they're safe. They're not — accidental deletion, ransomware, and account compromise can all result in permanent data loss. Cloud and backup support is included in your £10/user/month plan: we help you understand what's actually backed up, fix gaps, and have a plan if something goes wrong.

What's included

  • Microsoft 365 backup queries: understanding what the M365 recycle bin and version history actually covers, and where third-party backup fills the gaps.
  • Google Workspace backup advice: equivalent coverage assessment for Gmail, Drive, and Shared Drives.
  • Endpoint backup: help configuring and troubleshooting Windows Backup, macOS Time Machine, or your existing backup client — and alerts if the agent sees a device that hasn't backed up recently.
  • Deleted file recovery assistance: working through M365 or Google's native recovery options before concluding data is unrecoverable.
  • Disaster recovery planning: plain-language DR documentation for SMEs — what happens if you lose your main laptop, your M365 tenant is suspended, or your office floods.
  • Backup health checks: reviewing whether your existing backup setup covers what you think it does, and a written summary of gaps.

How it works in practice

A staff member accidentally deletes a folder of client documents from SharePoint.

The AI checks how long ago the deletion happened and whether it's within M365's recycle bin retention window. If it is, it walks through the recovery steps or does it directly with admin permission. If the data is beyond native retention, a UK engineer advises whether a third-party backup has a copy.

A business owner wants to know "what would happen if we lost all our data tomorrow?"

A UK engineer reviews the current backup and cloud configuration, identifies any single points of failure, and produces a short DR summary document. This isn't a formal business continuity plan, but it's enough to identify the gaps that matter most for a business of your size.

The endpoint agent reports a laptop hasn't backed up in 14 days.

The AI proactively raises a ticket, identifies why the backup has stopped (commonly a full disk or a changed network), and either resolves it directly or guides the user through the fix.

What's not included

Being clear about this upfront saves everyone time later.

  • Third-party backup licensing. We don't sell or procure backup software licences. If your setup requires a third-party cloud backup tool (such as Veeam, Backupify, or Acronis), you hold that relationship — we'll help you manage and troubleshoot it.
  • Data recovery from physically damaged media. Recovering data from a failed hard drive or corrupted storage device is specialist lab work that's outside our scope. We'll help you find the right vendor.
  • Full business continuity or ISO 22301 programme management. We can produce a practical DR summary, but formal business continuity management for compliance or enterprise purposes needs a dedicated consultancy.
